I know "a horse is worth as much as someone is willing to pay", but I'd really appreciate your opinions on how much you would value this horse at.
16.2hh Holstein X TB Mare, 4 yrs, Bred to jump with very good paces. Long list of wins and Championships in '04, '05 & '06 in in-hand Hunter classes and Competion Horse classes. Good in all ways no hang ups/vices. Really nice quality horse. Unbroken for no reasons to do with her.

If you were looking for a horse like this, what sort of money would you spend?

I'm not sure to be honest. Either an awful lot because her brood mare value could be high if she's that correct and nice - as could her riding horse value to continue with showing under saddle - or average price for a nice unbroken horse.

I'd be tempted to stick it up for around the £7k mark (which you may not consider to be enough - so go higher perhaps) and see what kind of responses you get.

I would be tempted to contact FMM - who has sold (I think) two show horses this year. She may be able to give you a more updated idea????

Ohh thats a good idea, if she doesn't reply to the post I will! Thanks. It's not that I want loads of money for her, I just don't want to sell her too cheaply without realising it! If you see what I mean?

I wouldnt say more than £4k max in my part of the world for an unbroken type with no particular breeding. But as you already know, some people will merrily give you £7k for her!

Absolutely - and if she's as nice as she sounds she's possibly worth more.

Yes I'd agree with Amymay - sound about the right ballpark figure.

Do you have a photo of her you could show us?

Yes, I have pics, will try and work out how to do it tonight. If you google "trifolio progeny" the first thing that comes up has two pics of her as a yearling.

I would have thought (from the description) more than £5k and probably less than £10k - unless she is exceptional in which case you could get even more. Have any producers approached you and asked if she is for sale -that is usually a good indication!

Why have you not broken her yet? One of the major classes for baby hunters is the 4 year old classes and she will be past her four year old year this season and be expected to go straight into the novice (which can be a bit of a lottery) and the open classes. Some people would be worried why she has not yet been broken.

Would love to see some pics!!!
