sew or bands?

Wet it and divide into bunches with plaiting bands. Run a little gel through each bunch and plait, it needs to be quite tight and plaited as close to the end as possible, secure with another band. Then roll it from the end up to the neck and secure with another band. It's just practice do it every couple of days and you'll soon have it down.

Hi also if you tuck the ends under then band it it will stop it being spikey, i try for 11 down the neck and the forelock makes 12, NEVER end up with 13.LOL Iknow when doing other disciplines you can have a greater number of plaits. but it is true practice makes perfect. happy plaiting.

Basically what ajn1610 has said , plait it as tight to the neck as possible, using abit of gel to help with those bits that are particularly short .

Double it over and then again if you can and hold it in place with a band or if you are any good with a needle and thread which is gives a more neater look . Bit of hairspray will help those little bits that are sticking up .

Ps wash the mane a day before not straight after a bath as it will leave the mane too soft and hard to get hold of .

Good luck x

Kwik plait is my golden tip for plaiting, doesnt matter how short it is will hold it.

Ps I love my 13 plaits in total! 13 is my lucky number! But traditionally it is odd number up the neck and the forelock makes it even numbers.
