Basically i want to move my horses to another field to give field at home chance to recover as no grass at present.

Other field was growing up for hay last year but due to bad weather it got cut and left on field. Went upto field today and still alittle bit of cut grass left in amongst the grass, so what im asking if it would be stupid to put mine up there. Dont want them getting colic or anything like that.

Just wondering what you think?

If it was topped for hay then I would think you should be okay.If it had been cut with a lawn mower then it would be a colic risk.

I would scrape up the grass and remove. If it has lain there since autumn its likely to be mouldy underneath. Horses will very likely try to eat it. It may also have started to ferment in the centre. Altogether not really a great feedstuff!

theres not alot there and wouldnt be able to rake it up as grass has grown over most of it but has left some showing
