Went for a rainy hack today, and stumbled across a wide grass verge about a mile long so naturally me and Tess had to try it out :D We had a lovely controlled canter along the grass, she is coming on in leaps and bounds she used to be sooo unbalanced in canter and only walked and trotted in previous home....

Let me tell you she has a need for speed those little ears prick forwards and off she goes like a chunky tb :D although very safe and listens to you when you ask her to slow it done :)

came home put Tess in due to the blooming weather and decided to be artistic :o:rolleyes::cool:

Too late for that, the crosses on the calendar are piling up:P
He's a dark bay thoroughbred, lovely paces and all in all my dream horse after months of looking:Deeek, typing that has made me all the more excited!

I've spent the whole day at the yard with my horses. I also work at the yard so it's not really a day off but it's different when you're just doing your own as you can do it at your own speed. :) Took my spotty pony for a hack and he was very lively and tanked off down the road with me in trot! I was laughing so much that I lost all the strength in my arms so couldn't stop! :D I decided to take him into a field for a canter to get rid of some energy and he squealed and bucked and leapt into canter. :D I then trotted him for the mile and a half home and he settled down. It's great that he is feeling so well though, as at the beginning the year I had a few problems with unsoundness with him but he has come back better than ever! :) Then, in the afternoon I rode my mum's horse in the schooling and got some amazing passage and half pass from him. :D

We are continuing riding out bareback, just on the bridleways and lanes - a week gone by now, and I feel soooo much more secure - walk, trot and canter now  It was all a bit wobbly to start with in trot, but i broke the boy bareback (couldn't afford a saddle), so as we were a bit jaded, i thought I'd give it another go. And to be honest, I prefer it to saddle riding atm.

I can feel my backside and thighs tightening up really quickly, and my balance has improved so much, so quickly - a few more days and I might even try popping a jump ;) Could this be the way to get rid of cellulite

I just adore my pony.

I turned up at the yard to discover somebody had already mucked out Pone and groomed him, and then I waited an hour for the school to be free of people having lessons. Just as the last lesson finished and I could get in, the threatened rain started.

I stuck with it until the rain turned into hail. Pone politely objected (by looking incredibly miserable, complete with floppy ears, deep weary sighs, and occasionally turning round to look at me as pitifully as he could) and I decided he had the right idea and we went back in.

Dried him off a bit and left him tucked up in bed with a pile of hay up to his shoulders.

Why isn't it summer yet?
