My "brand new" (had him less than 2 weeks) has taken a kick in the field to his knee. He's absolutely full of beans BUT it's leaking synovial fluid and is very swollen and he trotted up very slightly lame. Vet is currently analysing results at the lab and I will get a phone call later tonight re: surgery.
Thankfully my insurance looks to cover this but I'm petrified - I've never had a horse undertake any off-site surgery and naturally I'm terrified. From what I can work out, it's a relatively simple procedure with a very positive result - can anyone confirm?
Daft question in the big scheme of things, but does anyone know if I can claim transport to the hospital on insurance? (I don't have a box/trailer).
