Eeek I need your help!
My horse came in from the field last night and it looks like she has over-reached. Where she has trod on one side of the shoe she has bent it but it's still on! One nail has come out but It's not even loose. Now, the shoe is bent about 1cm off the base of her foot now, so her foot can't lie flat, and although no heat in foot or leg etc it must be very uncomfortable. Farrier was just on his way to a long weekend when i rang so can't get out until Monday and I won't find anyone else before then in my area.
So, I'm thinking I need to get this shoe off ASAP - ANY TIPS? I have never had to remove a shoe before and don't want to cause any damage! I have a few farrier tools, a hoof cutter thingy, a rasp and a little knife thingy - will these help?!
Any instructions / help much appreciated!
