Went to BCA sunday and did the british novice and discovery the course for the bn seemed well built but not excalty a hard ride but she jumped sooo lovely in the british novice and we had a double clear, and 5th but only rossettes and money for 3rd but still a DC

Then walked course for the disco and the course was rather huge course builder must of got excited cause one of the jumps was like 1 or 2inchs off 1.10[said on side of wing] it was veeeery built up but she jumped so lovely again.. we had 3 poles where i let her get to speedy and she was flat so clipped poles with back legs so my fault agian but she was a star very pleased with her http://s762.photobucket.com/albums/x...rent=ebs-1.jpg

not the best riding but slowly getting there

I think she is looking better and well done in the BN, the topline on her neck is really starting to form :)

She almost looked like in the disco that she was getting a bit long, was she a bit tired at that point as she almost looked like she was?

I think I say it in every one of your videos but more leg! Lots and lots of leg needed with her and lots of half halts, slow down the front end to let the back end catch up with her front.

Good luck, what are your aims for this year? :)

You did very well, so well done. Looking great, although I, personally am not a great fan of red coats, not until you get much higher up the classes anyway.
Big pats for pony. x

yeah shes not that fit.. iv started athletics again shes getting riden 4/5times a week max, might have to lunge on them days i dont ride as shes probs loosing fitness, i seem to always take my leg off just a bad habit i guess :o will work on it,
id like to Qufaily for scope, jumping more disc and hopefully be jumping dc's newcomers by end of this year, thanks alot :)
ruthnmeg- i think theres alot of people that not soo keen about the red jackets either:p thanks alot tho :) xx
yes she has, she had her yearly update a few weeks ago? and was told shes doesnt need injections and can carry on bute free :) x

Mayeb until she is a bit fitter stick to BN as you don't want to knock her confidence. Its been really warm lately that doesn't help.

I take my leg off to, its a natural thing to do on these wizzy ponies. When you warm up or schooling at home get someone on the ground just to remind you leg! Eventually it will become embedded and will become natural for you.

She seems very scopey so best of luck! Once you get that wizzyness under control and can harness it you two will be un stoppable (easier said then done its what I'm working on with my boy) :p

yeah good idea, take her on some fitness hacks when i do ride! yeah thats true think there going so fast so why do i want my leg on? but yes ill get someone to shout at me :p
yeah, my YO said you need her going fowards, but without the wizzy and speedyness :p
thanks alot again :) x

Just watched the disco, but the round was a lot better than the last one I watched :)

She is more together and you are setting up a bit more for each fence :) She was jumping nicely as well :)

I think the reason you had that first pole down was from the corner, you motorbiked around the corner (which everyone does at some point!) instead of using your legs, so practice turning circles on the flat without using your inside reins, (much harder than it sounds!) ie. so only use your legs and outside hand to turn the circle :)
Suppling exercises would be useful too :)

Also, instead of only putting leg on coming into the fence, around the corner keep your leg on which helps the impulsion :)

She looks fab :)

Looks good to me :)
How do you showjumpers not wear gloves. it freaks me out, sends shivers down my spine!!
