I have a 16.1 KWPN Ferro x Flemmingh gelding who is 12 years old. Has done BSJA up to 1.30s and has competed BD to AM. He had acute laminitis last year and has been fine every since. Have just been to the vets yesterday for a final check up (xrays etc) and he was fine. I am thinking about selling him as he will not go any further and ideally i want to progress as a rider. the vet suggested he needed a quieter life doing some riding club activities. he will not pass a five stage vetting but will pass a 2 stage vetting. He is not a novice ride but doesnt do anything horrible just can be sharp. He is good with everything else but can be impatient standing on the lorry. Do you think it is worth selling him (i would be selling him at a considerable loss) or possibly loaning him out? any advice is welcome.

Thanks

Providing you're honest the vetting and sharpness won't be as much as an issue as you think. It's up to you whether you want to be in control of his life or get some money to put towards a future horse.
