I'm in need of some advice on what to feed my young boy.
He is a 6years Warmblood & has been out all winter due to this he has lost a lot of weight. His previous owner said he was on hay and she fed him 1 scoop of Build up and condition every few days.
( I have owned Max for 2 weeks)
At this time he is out in the field 24/7 lots of grass & rugged with 1 scoop of build up daily, i have been told this will make him hyper? (by someone who doesn't fed the horses hard feed) im wondering if this will be the case? I have never owned a underweight pony or horse so never used a build up feed as such.
My horses are kept in during the winter with hay and very little hard feed, so my question is should i just stick with the one scoop every few days (I dont think this has helped him at all) or try him on something new. I dont mind the cost just want him healthy and a healthy weight even if it takes awhile, but dont want him to go wild either.
Any advice welcome
Thanks
