I bow my head in shame... I admit, I am rubbish at feeding. What I mean is, choosing the feed.
I have two hw cob mares. They are currently having speedibeet, Alpha oil and countrywide total control mix. I used to feed them top spec balancer but the ppl at countrywide convinced me I was wasting my money.
My mares look a good weight, they are both shod but I have had no problems with their feet... but their skin is horrible. They seem to both have scurf everywhere. They scratch all the time and dont have a good shine. For the past few weeks I have been delousing, oiling feathers and generally nit picking.. to the point i now feel it may be their feed.
Any suggestions?

I've never heard of Countrywide feeds, but if the scurffy/itch skin has happened since feeding it I would go back to Top Spec.

Lots of horses do get a bit itchy at this time of year as they are beginning to lose their winter coats, but if this is the first time yours have been so bad I would go back to your original diet.
