Ok, going rug shopping for Grace in the next few weeks and wondering what people can suggest for a 17hh WBxTB horse in the following:

Medium weight stable rug
Summer sheet
Medium weight turnout rug

I have a heavy weight turnout (Mark Todd) which used to be Hannah's, and a heavy weight stable rug (Weatherbeeta) which also used to be Hannah's as she had two.

I have a full complement of Weatherbeeta stable rugs that I'm really chuffed with... the turnouts don't fit at all but the stables are fab, and keep 99% of the muck off my grey (she is the messiest pig I have ever known!). So for mediumweight stable rugs I have both the Jasper Lite (200g) and the Jasper (300g). However I was going to get a Rhino as they also fit fab and in my experience are tough rugs, but I bought a 6'6" from one place and a 6'9" from another, both the medium weight ones, and they were different weights

labelled the same and everything!
Erm I don't "do" summer sheets (probably a good job for my bank balance!) so can't comment on that.
My horse is in a mediumweight Mark Todd which is fab, dry and cosy and fits well! I want a Rambo Supreme mediumweight though really, I have a Rhino heavyweight which is too short in the belly for Maiden but I have heard Rambos are better, especially the Supremes, and the V shaped front suits her really well. Have also never heard anything really bad about Horsewear!
So really I'd suggest Weatherbeeta, Horsewear or of course Fal if you can afford it, love those rugs!
Sorry can you tell I'm a rug addict, could talk all day about them

I am a bit of a saddy about rugs and did a lot of homework befor buying my girl a stable rug. Mark Todds are about a good two inches deeper than the cheaper rugs and fal are about two inches deeper than mark todd. I bought my mare a fal saracen as she is deep in the girth area and it fits really well. It doesnt look like a mini skirt!! I wouldnt go for the really expensive fal one- godolphin? as its too heavy- and really silly money!

Mark Todd stable rugs - they're the best in my opinion.

Rambo summer rugs - again I think they are the best.

Fal mediumweight turnout - and yet again

For the turnout i cannot recommend the Amerigo medium turnout.
Its cut deeper through the body, NEVER slips/moves/chaffes mine has lived in all winter and its been brilliant.
Cut very well on the shoulder, sizes come up to what they should be, and the rug will self right itself after a bout of rolling etc.

I totally recommend funnell the stable rugs are very warm and deep so wrap under the belly to keep them extra snug and my trurnouts have lasted 5 years and very good price.
