ok,so i cant use ACP(as if i wud)but would like to try 1 of the many thousand calming sup's for stroopy/fizzy mares.Dont think its her seasons as shes always on edge when schooling&looking for the hedge monsters(they live in hedge @side of sandschool, they do!!) Hate throwing my hard -earnt cash away on silly gimicks/products BUT maybe some do work??someone swears by moody or stroopy mare?? but does it taste horrid,as my mare is also a fussy eater&wont eat her feed at the best of times. arrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhh.ps used nupa

feed syringe calmer,didnt work!!

Ignore the anti-mares and hold tight!

If someone could make an anti-spook product I'd buy it! i was thinking maybe blinkers???

We tried valerian with our mare and it did chill her out. It's a herbal feed stuff and our mare enjoyed the taste, but then she would eat almost anything!

What have you tried so far? What are you currently feeding her, what is her current condition, is she living in or out and how much exercise is she getting?

I like to look at the obvious factors before trying to add a supplement but if you eliminate the not enough exercise/too much food scenario, and are certain that she isn't in pain for any reason, NAF Magic is worth a try as a general calmer

Valerian is a banned substance if you are competing. A lot of horses are on their toes at the moment - the spring grass is coming through. Is she turned out as much as possible, is she fed a forage based diet. Equine America's So Kalm is good, or if you think it is a mare thing, try one of the Moody Mare calmers. Anything you try, you need to give a go for a month or so - nothing will work overnight.

Our mare has been on a loading dose of Nupafeed for 10 days now and so far there's no difference at all. Had hoped there would be - they said after 5 days should be noticeable difference - but at £89 for a 5lt tub am keeping everything crossed!

What is she being fed? How often worked? Stabled etc

NAF magic is the way to go, my horse has been on it for over a year now and I find it excellent! I was sceptical at first but it really works....

Is the mare on mix or cubes? My mare is pretty much uncontrollable on any form of mix, (cool mix is not cool when fed to her) My instructor reccommended spillers lay off cubes. Its for horses on box rest, its brilliant my mare is never going to be quiet but thats why I love her, i feed top spec as well as I find that good to top her up with.

Good Luck

also have heard good things about nupa feed but expensive compared to just changing feed

Sorry not anti mare, just too many nice horses out there to tollerate this type, after all they all cost the same to keep!
