need to summer rug help? please

hi,
i got a rug in winter for my stallion, he grew out twice as he is only 3 yr old.
he measures 6'3 but he needed a rug extender to fit him. was great the extendable. he has broad shoulders but doesnt look broad really infront as has to fill out there more. i need a lightweight combo for him, as midges are annoying him. as i will prob have to buy him one again in a few months something cheap. but what size would you go for. the rug extendable would have took it up to a 6'9. so but why does he measure a 6'3 and need so much bigger, even though he has broad shoulders i have measured them?

also any itchy remedies please advise.
he has a skin allergic reaction last summer, symtoms of sweet itch but vet couldnt confirm that. so was tortured, got washes, supplements ect fly sprays. he is 100% at min, but midges are annoying now and all my horses so not just him. but want to just be carefull with him, so he doesnt get bite. so ordering something tonight on ebay. the fly sheets look good, but will they last a crack.

Could he have grown between being measured and your getting the rug? Or did you mismeasure? I would double check, to be certain. How are you measuring him - from where to where, etc? My 14.3 hh Arab is very dainty and she's in a 5'9" rug!

As for the rug, if you are worried keep your receipt, but horses will be horses and rugs get damaged. Often it's easy enough to repair them:) Plus he's young and may outgrow it.
