Help!

Lorry cab is cream cracked! Beyond welding! Chasis and back are in good condition (new back in 2007). Has anyone else replaced just a cab? If so, where did you get it from? Were based in York but the lorry is at my folks house in between! It is a Leyland daf 45 150, 7.5 tonne, W reg!

Absolutely gutted! Was due to be re-sprayed so was really excited about having it tarted up – this has come as a shock!

Thanks!

I looked into this and couldn't find a replacement cab anywhere, I was also told that for not much more than the cost of replacing the cab I could rechaasis the lorry. In the end I sold the lorry and bought new (old) one.

My leyland DAF cab rusted right through- it was a L reg to be fair! I have recently had the body put on a 55 plate chassis as I was advised this was the best option and am very pleased with it

If your cab tilts then its not a big job, however finding a rot free cab at a sensible price might not be so easy, it might be cheaper to look for a whole lorry on ebay take the cab and any bits you need and re sell or scrap whats left, personaly I would try some other places for a quote to weld it or look for a later Chassis like others have said...

Thanks for all the replies. Would absolutely love to upgrade the chassis but simply haven't got money. Think we've found a cab ( the place is not open until the new year-typical!). If that comes off it will be a total weight off my mind!!!

Oh that's good, but please look at your cab see where its rotten or going rotten make a note and look the new cab over carefully before you pay for it...

If you're looking at a DAF cab, then pull down the roof lining and check for rot up there, as well as round the windscreen. Unfortunatly cabs rotting is something the DAFs are known for :-/
