Our silly JRT got into the guinea pig food and has eaten about half a mug of the stuff. Doesn't sound much but she's looking somewhat bloated and moping around at the minute. We think she is feeling windy, bless her. Called the vets who said if she gets any more bloated or is sick to bring her straight in.

So it is just a case of wait and see, been measuring her belly to make sure she doesn't get any bigger as it's hard to tell just by looking at her cos she's got awful conformation!

Anyone else had anything similar happen?

Not had this with any of mine, but lots of positive get well soon vibes for your JRT

Sending lots of positive vibes. This might sound weird but you can try rubbing her belly and gently pushing (but not really pushing if you know what I mean, just a bit of gentle pressure with your cupped hand) her belly regularly, this can help push the wind out a bit.Had to do this when my lurchers raided the horse feed.Hope she improves quickly, luckily JRTs are not prone to torsion but you are right to keep a very close eye on her.Don't feed her until she is totally back to normal.Fingers crossed she will be ok asap.

Thanks everyone, she is looking much better this morning and back to herself lazing flat out on her back in the garden. Typical JRT helping herself to what ever she can manage to get to, definatly be keeping the guinea pig food well out of naughty little doggies reach as i am sure she would try it again if she had the chance!

My schnauzer got into the bird food and scoffed a load of peanuts ages ago.........

His poos looked like a candy bar from when I was little, but I cant remember the name

I think i might know the one your talking about, is it like a peanut bar? My mum said when my sister and i were younger one of the dogs got hold of a crayon and was doing poos with multi coloured bits in! Dogs ... they will eat anything given half a chance!
