Some of you might remember from my earlier posts that I was diagnosed with secondary bone cancer in Feb of this year. My pelvis has sort of disintegrated around the left hip because of the cancer and the consultant wants to try and put me back together again as if it gives way I could bleed to death very quickly:eek:
I am going into hospital on Thursday, op scheduled for Friday. It will take approx 8-10 hours and I will be put in intensive care after (scary, I used to be an intensive care nurse!). My husband luckily only works a few tube stops away, but my daughters will only be able to visit 1/2 a week (can be a 4 hour round trip and they both have loads of school work).
I know its for the best (and they have said I can get back in the saddle in 6 months or so) but I am terrified and feel like running away! The chemotherapy I can cope with, but being on crutches for the last 4 months has been hard, so I will look forward to getting rid of them eventually :)
Sorry for the long post x

You are very brave and am sending you healing vibes for friday - I hope it all goes well for you - six months is not long in the grand scheme of things and to be able to ride again will be a wonderful gaol to aim for - Hugs x

Imho feeling terrified and wanting to run away seems like a perfectly normal reaction to what you are facing. However, vibes and prayers that you have peace on Thursday and a successful outcome on Friday.

All the vibes I possess are flying your way

Lots and lots of luck for your operation and the recovery. Hopefully in a while you'll be burning the crutches and dancing around the fire! :D

*vibes*

I remember your previous posts and wondered how you were doing.
Sending you my thoughts and vibes for the op, keep looking forward and focus on being able to see your daughters and pony when you get out.
(How are you getting on with pony?)
Will be thinking of you fri.

Sending vibes and good thoughts. Don't worry about the op that's the easy part, just focus on the recovery. Best of luck x

No shame in being terrified - anyone who says they wouldn't be is a big fat fibber! Sending you my very best vibes and can't wait to hear in four months time that you've done so well that you are already back on a horse!
Reading Starzaan's posts while you are recuperating is my recommendation - laughter being the best medicine and all that :-)

Thanks everyone for your kind messages. KVH, new boy is lovely, both daughters ride him and he has settled really well.
MSM, I have only read Starzaans post once, had me in stitches! Will look out for them in future!

Hey niddlynoo, I remember your post, just want to wish you the best of luck for the op, you sound like an incredibly brave lady, hope it all goes well and look forward to seeing you back on here soon
Take care xx

Sending you lots n lots of good vibes. You are very brave, anyone would be terrified, but it will be fine good luck with the op and a very speedy recovery. Will be thinking of you.

Sending you lots of <<<<<<<<<vibes>>>>>>>. That op sounds scary!

The prognosis sounds positive though, your consultant is obviously expecting a positive outcome.
Good luck!

What a brave lady you are! Puts my problems and grumpy moods into perspective reading your post. All the very best for your op and stay positive. Look forward to catching up with your progress xx

I'm sorry I never saw your previous post but that is awful news hearing about your cancer and I'm very sorry :( Good luck in your surgery, everything will go great! My thoughts are with you on friday x

Sending you all the luck in the world! Of course you are scared - it sounds terrible, but just focus on the light at the end of the tunnel when you are well again and can enjoy riding once more. I really believe a positive attitude will do wonders, so keep your chin up! :D

At least you will have the support of everyone on here.

I think we would all want to run away from this. You must put your faith in your consultant and let him help you. Try to focus on the future when you will be back at home with your family doing the things that you enjoy the most. Sending you a huge hug in the hope that it helps you over the next hurdle.

Sending you lots and lots of positive thoughts and wishing you a speedy recovery and sending strength and kindest wishes to your family.
