Hi guys
My little Section A mare had a late foal last year (bit of an accident!). She is 19 this year and has had problems with her teeth in the past but now has these checked every year which requires sedation as she isn't the most co-operative!!

Anyway, she's currently fed Countrywide Extra Care Mix, NAF Pink Powder, Marksway Showshine Chaff and Sugar beet. She's well rugged up but I've noticed that she's not wintering as well this year. I appreciate the late foal wouldn't have helped.

Vet has checked her over and done a worm count which showed nothing (thankfully!). I've had Event which is a liquid multi-vitamin boost to give her monthly.

She is very fussy with her food and won't eat normal molassed chaff and if I give her cubes for some reason they make her scour quite badly. Even the conditioning cubes make her droppings like water! The feed she is on now seems to suit her constitution better than anything else I've tried. She's isn't emaciated or anything just looking very lean. I know they don't look brilliant after a winter but I'd like to see her more covered than she is. I don't want her rippling fat or anything just a bit more rounder than angular.

I was wondering if I included something like barley or linseed oil with her feed would this help? All the others are looking well on just cubes and hay but poor Dink needs a bit more TLC than the rest!

Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks.
