Having pinworm problems with one pony, planning to double dose strongid-p then single dose again in either 3 or 4 weeks (need to check the life cycle, anyone know?) Disinfect surfaces/rugs etc and clean her bum daily with wipes but after reading advice on her thought I'd give neem oil a go too.

Have found this; http://www.hyperdrug.co.uk/mobile/Neem-Oil-Margosa-Salve-100g/Productinfo/MARO100/

Is this the kind of thing put around her bum after wiping? Or this; http://www.hyperdrug.co.uk/mobile/Neem-Oil-Margosa-Lotion-500ml/Productinfo/MARGLE/
Although this has sulphur too?!

Cuddles from my cat for all :)

My horse had a bad case of this a year ago..tried various worming options to no avail..then did Strongid P as you have said. Went on line and found some organic pure Neem oil which I diluted with olive oil and used baby wipes once a week to wipe her bum. You have to do this for a good few months as the lifecycle of the worm is approx 6 months. The worm lays eggs around the horses anus but can't when you have applied the neem oil so eventually the cycle is broken.

Thanks, the top one I've found is a neem oil salve which I thought might be good as some people have mentioned mixing with vaseline or as you say oil. Thought maybe the salve would mean no mixing?

I've been using neat neem oil, which I warmed up, poured into a tub and left in a cool place to set. It makes it so much easier to apply when it's solid.

So, every evening (apparently they like to come out at night) I wipe with baby wipes and then smear on a bit of neem.

Not seen any sign of them since I gave the first wormer (ivermectin over several weeks), but I'm carrying on with the neem for a while longer, just in case....
