One of our horses really suffers with sweetitch and last week his zip broke in his hood and he was so badly bitten that when we put on aloe vera steam came off and he was so sore for about an hour.
I was talking to a friend and he gave me some neem soap and neem oil.I used it today as his neck is now scabby up by his mane.It seemed very nice to use. I washed it with the soap then rubbed some oil in ,left it for a while then rinsed off.
Since reading on the internet about it I am hopeful it will help. Has anyone else used it.?
I have also rubbed some oil in his mudfever and the scabs came straight off

I've used neem oil on scabby heels with good results. It is an excellent insect repellant and I have added it to home made fly spray although the oil does solidify at lower tempretures. Smells a bit strange, sort of garlic / nutty. No experience with sweetich but I guess its worth trying.

I have and it was quite useful

I thought it a strange smell ,quite nutty. Yes I got a bowl of warm water and put the tub of solid oil in, then used the water also with the soap. I found it quite easy to do, never heard of it before but I think it is worth having a go with
