So sad to see on SC4, a programme about the neglect of up to 200 horses and ponies, dead, dying and crammed into an old cattle shed, at Blaenbargoed Farm, west wales. Jane Hall, the farm owner and chairman of the westwalesfarmersbloodhounds supporters club should hang her head in absolute shame. She may not have been the owner of the horses BUT she was living on and owner of the site. All this information can be readily found on facebook so i am not saying anything here that is not already in the public domain. what i am angry about is the apparent lack of interest by the rspca in prosecuting. WHY. The more poeple that know about this digusting case the better.

Yes.

And it will be more in the near future. Due to the weather there is no grass growth.

As well there is no hay left. I did sort my "left overs" today and I did figure out there is no more supply on the normal channels.

You can get some hay that is bio hazzard and they start to ask money for it I would not pay under no circumstances.

Other option is now I can buy something like the canadian hay. Thats 500 Euro a ton and it is increasing.

Right if I need to do it I do it.

But if the weather keeps on going like this there will be no new hay this year, at least not in sufficient supply.
And not for the ordinary money.

And this will end up in a desaster in the end of the year.

So you can count on five fingers what is going to happen.

More neglected starving horses.

Can I ask what you mean here please?

For the first time ever I have had two round bales of seemingly good hay but the horses will not eat it at all. I am wondering why and now am concerned.

Sorry to go slightly off-topic and not saying this is the case with your bales, but we started on last year's late hay crop just before Christmas and most of the yard wouldn't touch it for quite a few days - just picked out the bits of the old stuff we'd mixed it with.

As it had to be cut late, it didn't contain the same amount of sugar and was quite coarse, but a good colour, no smell and no dust... the whole yard now tucks in happily ...

Rollin, s4c clic, y byd ar bedwar. English subs on there if you don't know welsh.

In spite of attending school in Llantwit Major and LLanwrtyd Wells - I never did master Welsh!! I don't have a good ear for French either.

Still love Wales though and we called our first colt Under Milkwood, my father played the lead in a play by T C Thomas which won a prize for Wales and went to London.
