negotiating price

Depends on what the asking price was etc. Some people will negotiate, others will stand firm for the asking price. Go in low with a top figure in mind. You can always increase your offer if you need to. Good luck!

Have you found something???? I would go try the horse before asking if open to offers, If you are there with a deposit, subject to vetting it is easier t haggle. Also depends if private or dealer, all prices are negotiable, depends how realistic starting price is? Details?

definitely ask when you ring if they are open to offers; nothing worse than having crossed wires and wasting your time and theirs.

i wouldn't go into haggling or specifics on the phone just casually ask 'i assume the price is open to offers?'

as for what to offer- depends on how much you want the horse and if there are any points which make it easier to haggle.
in general i would start at around £2k and work up to £2300-2400 if priced at £2950 but wouldn't waste mine and vendors time if i wasn't able to pay the full price.
