My friend has one, she is some what of an expert on them...they have come with a fair share of horrendous health problems..inc frequent gastric torsion, cherry eye and ..never ending slobber

Im sure there are good and bad as in all breeds. I was offered one once because someone knew I had mastiffs and was told it was a lovely dog but had a few issues about letting people near its owner! A little possessive! Paritcularly with women!
Didnt rehome it!!

I dont think they are the easiest of the mastiffs. Old English ones are the best!

ETA- found this www.akc.org/breeds/neapolitan_mastiff

Theres a piccy!
Temperament
The Neapolitan Mastiff is steady and loyal to his owner, not aggressive or apt to bite without reason. As a protector of his property and owners, he is always watchful and does not relish intrusion by strangers into his personal space. His attitude is calm yet wary. In the show ring he is majestic and powerful, but not showy.

A friend of mine has one who is gorgeous!
She comes into the pub and just lies there and doesn't really care who comes in or bother about the other dogs!!
The only bad thing i could say about her is her slobber!! It's funny when she starts drooling when someone gets some food out!
She is also somehow related to the one used in Harry Potter, i can't remember exactly but something like her mums sisters pup or something along those lines!!!!

Mine are bad enough but Neos have far bigger jowels in which to store up the slobber!!

We looked into getting a Neo before getting our St B, but you are looking at 2k plus for a good quality well bred one, which is important with such a big dog with so many possible health problems.
