We have a homebred 6 year old mare trak x ISH 16 hh who we’ve tried do everything right with , backed at 5, light balanced rider, fitted saddle, gentle hacking, well balanced and barefoot etc but sadly found close (not touching )dsp in few places with signs of remodelling . Also found ulcers now being treated with omeprazole / sulfracate. Not happy cantering or going downhill and very reactive to touch not over back or under saddle but on flanks behind riders leg especially on right side . Nerve blocked back and 10 times worse - explosive to ride ( usually sensible just reluctant) and obs much worse . Anyone else found nerve blocks made things even worse ? Does this show it’s defo ulcers causing issue not her back , only 2 weeks in to ulcer tx so early days . Bit despondent tbh …..
