10 being very VERY nervous, white as a sheet, can't eat, go to the loo alot and ready to faint
1 being very very chilled without a care in the world

How nervous would you be at jumping a course of 8 fences at 3ft in front of a hundred people
on say a trusting good jumping horse although you still have to 'ride' and if you sit like a pansy you will get a fault or 2?

I can't stop thinking about tomorrow now, and although a day away Iam getting very nervous moments, about a 7.5 I think. NEVER used to be like this - so whats happening to me?!!

If I was confididant, and at least 13 I would be a 1.

I am now not 13 and not confident anymore, so thinkinig about it would wind me up to 9 1/2. The only thing I can put it down to is age.

But.......

You will be fine, accenutate the positive, and GOOD LUCK

Since my fall about a 8 1/2 :(

Before that about a 3!

Its slowly coming down though, thankfully! I always sound such a big wimp!

Must be age. I don't really understand it as I haven't had any major scares, but its here and its happening.
Do you think nerves are a good thing?

If I trusted the horse, then I'd be about a 4, because I'm a nervous person, with a spike to 6 or 7 just before going in. Nerves can be good because they can give you that extra edge---or so they say---but all I can say is, eat a banana to help you calm down, and just go do the thing that makes you nervous lots, so that it will eventually bug you less!

I would be a 20/10 so you are doing better than i would :D

But then again, i can't jump for toffee and haven't been to a show since i was a child.

I'm sure you will do great. Forget about the people, they don't matter. It's just you and the trusted horse and only 8 jumps to get over, easy :)

im usually nervous that i'll ride really badly, get faults, or just fail rather than falling off etc! i know it's not very likely i'll fall off or forget the test/course (i have once though :o ) i'm more worried i'll get refusals/poles down cos i really want a double clear and get placed

My greatest fear would be remembering the course!

I was just going to say this! It's been a long time since I did any kind of showing. Or jumping for that matter. Back then, I didn't even think about it - no nerves whatsoever. Now, I think I'd be at around an 8.

Once you take the first jump, you'll be steady and focused though. Have fun and good luck!

5, maybe, im not too bad except for the first two or three fences i will just be really wobbly and not want to ride at all although i know i should and then i kind of relax and am ok, im actually better if im on something i have to ride and get a few stops on if i dont cause then it makes me angry cause it makes me look like a total fool so then i start to ride a bit more

When I was about 13 it would be about a 4, but I did a working hunter at 2'9 a couple of weeks ago and for a while I was about an 8. It was strange, the day before I was absolutly bricking it, nausea and everything, we got the showground, as soon as I got on board I was fine, like I was going for a hack or something. You might feel better on the day?

A bit of nervousness will make you concentrate :) If you're too laid back you're asking for trouble/faults I think. You will be fine! Good luck, can't wait for pics!
