Anyone else get more nervous after you have tried a horse and said yes your having him/her than when your trying ?

No because I wouldn't buy unless I was 100% certain. I had no doubts at the time about any of the horses I have bought, and that's 7 to date. The first one and the last one were no good at all for ridden activities but the last one is very much loved.

But there are so many crooks about now that it will probably worry me buying the next one though.

This will be the first one I am buying that will not be 'replacing' a deceased horse so it's a shame the enjoyment of buying that I've never really experienced before, has been taken out of it.

Yes. Mostly because any big commitment in life makes me nervous 🤣

Especially when buying a horse. You're essentially committing to potentially lighting your money on fire...never to be seen again 😂 but no risk, no reward, and all that.

I've bought seen and unseen. I've felt the same way for both.

It's awful, isn't it? There is no way to be 100% certain, especially if you're looking for something specific, you snooze you lose.

It felt easier when they were cheaper, which is a fallacy if like me you couldn't possibly pass a broken one on.

I think it's easiest if you can accept a horse isn't right for you and pass it on.

I've bought 2 recently and it's so different to the excitement of getting a new one when I was younger!

Yes. It’s like holding your breath and diving into a very deep pool. Or being in a runaway car that you initially set in motion. 😂 Terrifying stuff. Just got to ride it out.

I was forced to ride my new horse because he was on a 7day trial. If I had no time limitation I probably wouldn’t have done so much and therefor would have been nervous for longer 😂

Don't do what I did!
I arrived at my yard to ride for the first time. Was possibly one of the only time's in my life I'd felt real proper nerves. Previous Horse has thrown me off quite nastily twice in the 3 times I'd got on it- the second my bum was in the saddle i was on the floor, then in hospital both The last time involved a facial surgeon to stitch my mouth back together after i removed a fencing fail with my face.
So getting on a new horse for the first time alone was a bit hairy. Tacked up, got on, (stayed on!), went for a little hack alone and when I got home realized I had forgotten to put my hat on 😬 🤣 🤣 Sheer nerves, what an idiot!
Lucky for me this one was a nicer horse!
