Next week I am going for a Mock Hunt Training with my school, and I am very nervous. This is my second time on mock hunt/cross country course, and but the horse I rode last time have been sold. So I am riding a 5 year old, relatively green horse and I just started riding him on Tuesday. The only time I have jumped with him (80 - 100 cm course), I was thrown of and hurt my hip and knee. Do anyone have any tips of how to handle my nerves and how to prepare myself for it?

can u ask for a different horse? i would most certainly wear a body protector...
hope it all goes well...
:)

Can´t ask for a different horse as I am the only one riding him at the moment, I am supposed to help train him as I did with the first horse I rode Mock Hunt with. Only thing was that that the other horse I had been riding for a longer time (and trusted more), he was a year older and a lot less green. I am wearing a body protector, it would be suicide if I went without, and it is a school requirement. I guess, the only thing I can do is to cross my fingers and hope for the best.

I will at least jump him on Wednesday. Thanks for the tips :)

Rescue Remedy pastilles or drops for you - you can get these from Boots. I may be misremembering, but I recall you are a bit young for a hipflask...

Also, if it's a mock hunt - don't feel that you have to jump. Jump whatever you feel like, don't feel like you have to jump anything and everything to be taken seriously.
