Nervous traveller- Should I try a calmer?

Poppy is 14 yrs old and has travelled only in the last couple of years. She loads willingly, but her legs go like jelly when she's in the trailer. At first is just seemed that she struggled at corners, but I can feel the trailer rocking when we are still at traffic lights etc. She travels with her field companion (Loves to hate her) with a bite guard. she usually sweats up and manages to tread on her own hooves. I once took her alone in the trailer for a short ride ( on the other side) and she seemed fine. (Maybe a fluke?) Other things I have tried are:
Blocking off the bite guard so they can't snarl at each other-
Putting breast and breech bars at biggest setting-
Someone who followed from behind said she nearly went down a couple of times and seemed to be leaning against the sides of the trailer.
I wonder if its anxiety and stress and if I should try a calmer? I'm not really able to remove the partition and although the top doors at the back are open, the problem can be on a quiet road with no traffic about. Help!!
 
why cant you take partition out.our horse was the same as are a lot of horses.she needs to spread her back legs and stands on an angle to balance herself

Cant help much im afraid but i have the same issue with my gelding, he dosnt seem to like my horsebox, with or without the partition. Every time we turn a corner (even a 10mph) it feels like he is going to fall over and he clatters about! I makes sure he wears over reach boots and he also seems to stand on himself. He also has a bad habit of kicking the back of the box and as its rear facing its right behind my head, that put me off travelling him for a while, he also used to sweat up quite badly. I did try a calmer but didnt do much good

Whe she is in with the other horse which one travels on the left hand side? Maybe she would be better on herself on the left hand side as she would feel more secure? Might be worth trying it again?

Debsflo. Can't take out the partition as mostly need to travel them both. Trubie. She is the lighter horse so travels on the left. I thought of changing them round, but the heavier horse is about 80kg heavier and I don't want the trailer to become unstable.
 
I would try the calmer and see if it works

My mare clatters and shakes when the box is still but is better when we are moving, not sure why but i put it down to nervousness or impatience!
 
My friends horse will only travel alone, if another horse is in with him, he throws himself to the floor. Sadly and inconveniently she has had to accept this and to be able to travel him at all and safely she can only do it with him alone.
I would try him on the other side and failing that, travel him alone with no partition, get a horsebox, expensive I know (I had to do this with my horse) or risk him possibly falling over. I only warrant a trailer but my horse wont travel in one. It drives me mad seeing the wagon stood doing nothing.
 
my mare used to be an awful traveller both on her own and with another horse. when on her own in my trailer which is a 505 she would get in a right state to the point where she wouldn't load and also in the bosses 510 she woud move around alot you coukd see the trailer swaying from side to side.
now after a nearly 2 seasons of regular hunting in my tailer she travels fine without the partition (put it in and she completey goes backwards) and my boss has even said she doesn't notice her in her trailer any more.
