My mare has been ill for a few months with high liver enzymes. So she has been in a small boxrest paddock during the day since this happened. She was out there this morning for a hrs and half and I took her in as she has lumps all over her face. They went down so I put her out in another small paddock for a hr this evening and she came back in 4 times as bad as she did this morning. Both fields have nottles in them the one this morning had alot and the new one this afternoon had 2.

Could the lumps be nettle stings and should I do anything to treat them?

You can gently apply aloe vera gel (make sure it is a good quality gel) or as nettle stings are acidic so you could also apply a paste of sodium bicarbonate and water - you have to get the consistency right so that it stays on the skin.

Of course dock leaves are another antidote to nettle stings, you have to mash them so you can rub the juices onto the rash.
