Does anyone know how NS bits come up for size@ ie if a horse's usual bit size was 5 1/2, would this be the same for a NS bit or would you go up to say 5 3/4? I thought I read somewhere that they come up small

I have a NS bit and a JP one, both 5" and identical size. Don't know if that helps?

I can tell you tomorrow re exact size comparison - bridle isn't with me at the moment. My JP is a curved single jointed fulmer, the NS is a training lozenge full cheek. I measured them against each other when I bought them, hard to tell as they're both slightly curved but at the time I thought they were the same size and same measurement. I love that NS bit, I really recommend them.

Spot on. 5inch mouth mare has a 5 inch, 5 1/4 gelding has a 5 1/4 and 6inch mare has a 6inch, all are perfect.
