After going through lots of bits when I first got him I now ride my horse in a Neue Schule demi anky. This seems to work well in the school but I need to find something to give me more control when we are out and about, especially jumping. He is an ex racer who leans on the bit when he wants to go faster (very fast sometimes

) and has a habit of snatching the bit if he wants his own way. Because he has a large tongue and a fine mouth I find the NS work well with him. So I am thinking perhaps of a NS waterford baucher or jumper for days when I need more brakes. Any thoughts?

Hi S - yes I'd try a waterford - seem to be good for horses who lean. Used them a lot in the past. You may find in time you need more brakes and want to start thinking about a pelham or some such (I upgraded from a waterford dutch gag to a jointed pelham on Heather's advice) when he muscles up, that's the only thing.

Wait till Heather is speaking again, could save a lot of time and money in the long term. She designs the NS bits and would be vrey well placed to advise you.
