Neue Schule Starter Bit... Sizes

Ok... do I need to buy a larger size for this like with the Verbindend version?

Bought one, but the normal size seems too small...

Think they do advise to go slightly up in size - my youngster wears a 5.25 NS lozenge fuller but a 5.5 NS starter or verbindend.

My mare seemed to like it even though it was the wrong size. Will order one and put the other on eBay... :-(

My starter bit looks neat when in the mouth, relaxed, but when contact is taken up it looks fine, there has never been any problem, so I think it is due to the curvature.

I also bought a 5.25 but need bigger, mine too will be on eBay soon

I had to go up a size with mine. From 5 to 5 1/4

I normally get 5.5 and was advised by NS to stick with it. I agree with MrsD123 once you have taken up a contact the bit looks the correct size.
