Does anyone have any experience of these, particularly on a horse with a thick tongue and low port?

I have one and use it on my two cobby youngsters. Since changing to it they are accepting the bit better and no longer resisting the contact. I definitely like it and it seems they do aswell.

Both my youngsters go amazing in it! My older mare has issues with it but she doesnt like any bit but a straight bar lol.

I had shadow in one until we swapped to the verbindend last summer. It was a very good bit for our early stages, we just found once we started the more advanced work that he was tending to lean down on it, the verbindend has helped me to lift him off his shoulder more.

He has a fairly thick native tongue and has quite fleshy lips

Ive got my tb in one, as he was very reluctant to take a contact and would curl behind the contact, hes a lot happier and more confident in his mouth now. I am finding he's bearing down on it a bit now, so I'm thinking of moving him onto something else, but it was an excellent bit for the stage he was at.
