Does anyone know if you can get this bit in a 18mm mouthpiece in either a 5 3/4 or a 6" please?

And can you use a normal curb leather curb chain with it?

My EDT has strongly advised me not to use the pelham bit i have been using for the past 6 years on my horse anymore as it has injured his mouth and he has recommended this bit in its place. He says he sees this pelham related injury at least once a week in the line of his work.

Their website is showing 16 mm in the sizes you want but 18 mm only in 5.5. Probs just contact them to see if they make it in the size you want?

Thanks Ali, yes I was going to contact them but as it was Sunday last night and being impatient for results I thought I'd ask you guys first :)

Anyway I've just rang them (drumroll) and they only do 5.5" in the 18mm and their bits do come up a little smaller so it really won't fit him, so I am going to either go for the tranz angled universal pelham in the 6" or the tranz angled lozenge universal in the 16mm in 6". I've contacted my EDT and I'm waiting for a call back. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

I can't imagine doing one day events and showjumping in anything other than a pelham, he is 17.1 and takes a hold very quickly and easily without you even being aware sometimes. That said in a hanging cheek snaffle he is a lamb. :D
