This 'design' of bit is great, but please spend the extra and get a sprenger not a Neue Schule as these bit have a reputation of being 'soft' and easy to bend and break. I know my Neue Schule Tranz literally broke at the joint with the roller and half way across the hunting field found the bit hanging out each side of my mares mouth while heading for a large hedge ! luckly my mare pulled up but dread to think of what could have happened.
Spent the extra pennies and got a sprenger and when you put the two makes side by side you really can see and feel the difference in quality and design. Well worth it.
