The universal bits - "should" they be used with the curb strap? Does anyone use it with or do you all use it without (as I have seen a few people doing)? Also, does everyone use it with single reins, roundings, or double reins?

I think it depends upon what you want to achieve and on how your horse is going. You can pick and mix depending upon the circumstances, for example, some people take a belt and braces aproach when hunting!

On the horse I used the universal I used it without a curb and one rein on the bottom ring. Worked for that particular horse but as YorshireLass says it really does depend. Heather is very helpful so do not be afraid of ringing her.

When i used a universal i used it with a curb but you can use them with or without a curb! i have normally used just a single rein altho i have tried using two reins which worked well! Heather at NS is really helpful!

I use it without a curb strap - Mine is used with roundings and has transformed my horse's way of going completely!

i also use mine with roundings and its great. Did try it with the curb strap- but my mare found that to sharp!

Yep I found the same - the curb was just too much for Rock but with the roundings I got the desired effect

I too do not use a curb attachment. If I had the money, it would replace all my (many many!) bits with Neue Schule designed ones, since the Universal bit has transformed my horse's way of going, (and he is very hard to bit!)
