I finally got up the nerve to use my neule schule universal bit on the bottom ring with the leather curb. Whao what a difference, i wish I had done it a year ago. I am small and my little chestnut ex polo mare is very hot and fast. I have gone from arguing and hauling on a snaffle to soft and easy, ask and release. Its given me more time to think and observe not just fight and react. She is less resisting and seems happier and more balanced. I think a life of being heavily bitted for polo made a snaffle quite difficult for her to adjust to, but I have been a little intimidated by the whole "snaffle is best - the rest is cruel brigade" Its a great bit for anyone with a sensitive horse who needs a little bit more control!
