Two weeks ago i went down to the field we rent to hack out sprite my ex-race horse, only to find he had a punchture wound on the underside of his neck. It appears that next doors goats (all with horns) have been visiting the field and causing a fuss. Sprite was stupid enough to think he could go and make friends with said goats and got stabed in the neck for his trouble. We checked every thing in the field to make sure nothing else could have caused it but found nothing, then the goats came through while we were there so no doubts now. Any way poor old sprite had a lucky escape as he narrowly missed his jugular and widpipe, not to mention several key nerves. Thought i post this on here to warn others of enquisitive goats and problems they can cause. Sprite is fine now, his staples come out on wednesday, so he will no longer be able to use his new neck piercing

We gave our goats away as they were a pain in the bum...
The male castrated one gave me a headbutt on the leg to remember, he knocked me flat as we loaded him..Good riddance I say. Their horns carry all manner of nasty bugs so be careful..

Our goat is fab. She is best friends with Gin and I have never had any problems with them. Its always the poor goat that gets injured, it has to be the unluckiest goat in the world having broken 2 legs, a horn and losing an eye.

This one is a downright nuisance (and I am a goat person!) came with a boarding horse and drives OH mad because she has fallen in love with him and follows him everywhere. She has never been taught any manners, or even, simply, to lead. Still, only staying for winter whilst their owner recovers from a broken hip.
