Having sold my stunning but stupid dressage horse (I don't do dressage, long story) and found a new job, I was in a position (well, totally not but...) to have a play horse, something to hunt, hack and have fun on alongside Beau.

Found one online and went to veiw. It was a long way away and when I got there it was a hand smaller than advertised, fat, and sooo ugly!! Anyway, I know a few people who are looking and we went all that way so I rode him anyway thinking I may be able to recommend him to someone as he clearly has a lovely nature.

I fell in love as soon as I rode him. He is so quiet to handle and totally comes alight to ride, he's mental!! But no bucking or anything, very safe. And despite MAJOR confidence issues on my part over the last year, I happily jumped him a decent hight and will xc and hunt him no bother. He came home the next day!!

Anyway, my friend who has been looking for a nice loan horse for ages tried him and also fell in love with him so, various reasons, time and future baby plans being chief, I am going to share him with her. She's having a tough time at the moment and sent me the cutest text last night saying he's really picked up her spirits and given her strength to deal with the stuff she's going through.

Sad thing is, he's the wrong side of 13, very talented and screwy and so cuddly, he's obviously been someones pony then been sold on when he got too small or too old, he's been through several dealers and an 11 year old beginner (who he could actually have killed) and has cuts all over his face and girth area, he's in a fairly poor state though the dealer I bought him from was lovely, and it seems so sad.

Our 31 year old is very tired these days and as pony gets older he will slot nicely into the companion/light hack slot that she will sadly leave at some point and as I get caught up with babies that will suit nicely. HHO happy ending I think, but until then he is tearing round lincolnshire giving 2 30 somethings who should know better, back their teenage years!!
