New arena - how long to settle?

We're having silica sand delivered tomorrow, we'll be adding a fibre stabiliser in a couple of months so will just be the sand for now. How long will it need leaving to settle?

Also - could people recommend fibre additives? We can't have rubber unfortunately as we're near a bore hole so no no due to toxic run off. Shame as that would have been my preference!

In my experience you need to either water it or hope for rain!! Mine took a good few months to properly settle (although it was a dry summer) and we couldn't water it. It also depends on how much you use it. As its only me using it a few times a week it takes longer but if you're in there for a few hours every day it'll be quicker.

Lots of harrowing too seemed to help. Have fun!

Thanks, will be getting the sprinklers on! Have a quad, chain harrow and roller too.

How long after it was laid were you able to ride on it?
