Was going to post in tack room. But it's been flooded with Chinese spam !!
I have three ponies arriving tomorrow from a rescue centre. I have prepared the fields by building stables putting up electric fencing and new normal fencing. I'm really nervous as I've never had horses on my own private land. Only on livery yards. I'm scared I might get something wrong. Can anyone give me any reassurance or tips on anything please ?

Relax; you will be fine! The main difference between having horses at home and keeping them on someone else's property is that now YOU will have to deal with all the stuff that happens. Mostly this is land related, so you'll find yourself taking a deep interest in grass varieties, soil type and weed control. Mud will be your enemy, so keeping an eye on ground conditions and rotating pasture is key. You have stables so that will be a great help. Things like where to put the muck heap, and how to manage it, who will take it away, etc. are also important. Checking and maintaining fences, gates and gateways is another task that will occupy your mind. Will the rescue centre help with feeding regimes, etc.?
