New horse has been a bit wild at times since I've had him - just a buck here and there and a few leaps in the air when a bird flies out of a bush etc as well as being quite strong cantering out exercising.
Tuesday morning he was naughty when we left the yard in the dark but I took him for a long ride with lots of cantering and he settled quite well. Took him up the gallops yesterday. 1st time he was quite racy and second time he couldn't be bothered to get to the top.
He was a bit the same this morning out exercising and cantered really nicely across two fields which surprised me.
Could it be that he is settling or the fact that I've stopped fighting him and am riding him on a longer rein? All seems a bit strange!! I am aware that the weather has been a bit wild too and the winds have finally died down so wondered whether it might have something to do with that?!!
