New bare feet - 2 weeks in

Thanks for the update, can never see too many hoofy pics; they are very nice.

I love the natural look but if they were mine I would be itching to get the rasp out; did you get around to buying one?

My boy is 2 weeks in as well. I wish his feet looked as good as those! We have a long way to go, although I think we are on top of the thrush infection now at least.

How is your horse finding it? Is he sound out of shoes?

No I haven't bought a rasp- too scared!! I have upped the roadwork though which has tidied them up a good bit!
He is *touch wood* fine at the minute on all surfaces!! So far it has been an easy transition, but I've only taken the back shoes off. Front feet would take ALot more bravery on my part! I'm gonna see how he gets on when the ground gets wetter and stuff before I do that as he's much too fat at the minute and I can't allow him too much time off!

I noticed that his coronary back looks more even and his frogs are fatter but not much else to see in the first 2 weeks! Will be taking fortnightly pics for comparison - my new hobby lol

mine is about 4 weeks in to bare foot, and looks a mess !!! they look good compared to mine ! I have not even dared to try riding or taking out of the field !

But then I am slightly luckier in that horse is semi if not fully retired anyway !

I braved the rasp - bought a rider's rasp which is easy to use, and dared to attack my newly barefoot feet this weekend, was a lot more simple than I had thought and his feet look much better!

I hacked again tonight and in worried I've done too much too soon with the roadwork cos he felt his feet a few times over the stony drive :( gonna stick to the field/school for a few days
