I am considering entering this new event (I know that it was previously run as an unaff venue but sounds like they've done lots to it?).

In the schedule it says:-
"The course has been stone-crushed and re-seeded with specialist grass seed to ensure the best possible going even in July. An Equivator will be used if considered necessary".

Does anyone have any experience of what the going is actually like when a course has been stone-crushed and re-seeded? Does it actual get a good covering of grass (that doesn't get broken up if the stone chips move)?

All I can imagine that is similar at the moment is when they put that horrible stone chip on take off and landing which to my mind almost makes it worse (esp on my very spooky mare!) so I wouldn't want to enter if it was like that all the way round.

Thanks :-)

Cant help re the stone type but I was talking to a guy called John (I think!?) at a friends party, he has the yard there now. He said its a brand new course-not using the old unaff. course- and its got a new track. So I took that as it being mown with take offs and landings tended to. Sure you could phone and ask the organiser if its stony all round?

It should be fabulous going, the peopel who own Crown Farm, where the event runs have a horse with one of the riders i work for and from what they've said they're seriously working on all aspects of it.

Their horse is advanced and terrible on bad ground so they should know all about it!!!

saw one of the jumps being made for it over easter, all i can say is you arent getting me anywhere near it!
