New bedding and girlie not laying down

Have just moved my girlie back to the yard i bought her from (she has been away with me at work for nearly 5yrs) i've always had her bedded on shavings or paper but the majority on the yard now use aubiose so i decided to give it a go but the ponio doesn't seem to want to lay on it, it, she has rubber matting it has big banks and the floor is a good 3" thick, she has been in her new box 3 nights, just wondering if anyone else has had problems with horses not laying on a particular type of bedding

She also has very puffy legs in the morning ,only time this usually happens is the day after hunting in heavy going, her new field is at the bottom of a hill, its quite sticky out there and they had a bit of a hair around the first day, hopefully its just that she has over done it and now they have settled so will her puffy legs

Absolutly positive, when shel ays down she makes herself a little lia nest in the back right corner, she also has no bedding on her rugs or on her mane and tail.
I've never seen her lay down in 7yrs but there is always evidence of a comfy snooze in the morning

Mine are on auboise and they've never had a problem - I like the stuff its so easy to manage. Both go down and have a snooze every night. Not had a problem with puffy legs either but as you say its probably due to the sticky going in the field.
 
No never had this problem. I used Aubiose and rubber matting in England and my horses were perfectly happy on it. The laid down because I used to check on them in the night. They never had any "bits" in their tails though - so if you didn't see it you wouldn't think they laid down......but they most certainly did!
 
Would guess she is still settling in - even though she was at the yard before, she hasn't been there for a while and needs time to settle. If you really think it is the aubiose, you could try putting a layer of shavings on the top - but I would guess you are worrying unnecessarily!
 
Can't comment on the lying down, but had a similar situation with puffy legs. I found that one of mine was coming out of her box with all four a bit puffy in the mornings, I cut her evening meal down right down to chaff and a little sugar beet and bumped her brekkie up a bit (she has barley rings, sugar beet, chaff, and build up) and this has cured the puffy leg problem. I thought maybe it was something to do with the energy from the feed coupled with her not moving around causing it?
 
I am worrying about her unnecessarily, she will lay down when she feels comfortable with her surroundings.
As for the puff legs i'm almost certain it is the going in the field.
She is on a high fibre diet as she is a hot headed fattie!!
