I dont know if anyone will remember, but a few weeks back I won a radio competition and had £160 which I was going to spend on a new dressage bridle for Ellie. Now on Tuesday, mum and I had a tour around the Cotswolds, visiting various saddlers. Yet not one of the bridles I looked at really appealed to me - other than the John Whitaker, which I thought I would probably end up getting. However, I then went to our local saddlery - the Old Dairy - just up the road, and saw that they had a Jumpers sale on all leatherwork. My other two bridles are both Jumpers, and they are beautifully long lasting, smart and - a major bonus - the brass stays nice and shiny, unlike Kate Negus bridles! With the sale on, I saved just under £40; I bought a whole bridle for £46, considerably less than my £160 budget! Am I a cheapskate for passing up the (rare) opportunity to buy a very expensive bridle? Thing is, I'm at this moment looking at my Jumpers bridle hung over the door and I dont actually regret it!!!!
