Hey
Am just after some feed back for a friend of mine I have been trying to convince him to set up a business as a groom.
He has been doing work on and off for a local eventer and also goes away in the summer to the 4* events grooming for another rider. He is forever being called to do clipping and mane and tail pulling and looking after horses/ponies whilst on holiday in hospital etc.
He isnt however convince there is enough call for him to make it his only work. What do you guys think? We are in the South Wales area?
Also what would you be prepared to pay for a full clip?
or a days grooming at an event (the normal N/ Int etc) and what would you expect for your money?

It is all a bit hypothetical at the moment as he isnt sure but i think it would be a good idea and am hoping some positive feed back may encourage him to take the plunge

(he has lots of experience showing and SJ as well as eventing)

All responses gratefuly excepted aven negative ones! best to find out now rather than 2 years down the line and bankrupt!

Depends what work he is doing as his main job now, he will have to take into account travel time and petrol but would be able to put this against tax if he was self employed.
Work can be a bit up and down though
