I currently have a tacking issue with my current jump saddle. At the moment i have a Albion K2, its about 3 years old.

I used to work with Eventers and compete in the discipline myself. For Novice level the saddle was perfect it kept me in the saddle most of the time and gave me confidence when jumping large showjumps at home.

Ive now decided my appaloosa is a wasted eventer and are now showjumping again. The only problem is jumping 1m 30 is causing me problems in the saddle as the K2 restricts me behind and the knee rolls are holding my knees so no movement.
I now want to sell my beautiful Albion SLK dressage saddle and the K2, to purchase that all important super dooper wow factor. Trouble is what do i go for?

Any ideas from professionals or amateurs alike is much appreciated.

Love the Pessoas personally, and the Butet double flap. I absolutely adore my Bates momentum, have removed the knee rolls and love it, but that is prob more from an eventing/xc point of view.... definitely the most comfortable jump saddle I have ridden in though...

Ooh what size is your Albion SLK?

As for jumping saddles, different saddles suit different people. The pro showjumpers use Stubben,,Butet, Devoucoux and Pessoa.I would try Pessoa or Prestige saddle as they are sympathetic for the horse. Or Sue Carson saddles ( I have a fantastic jump Sue Carson for sale it really rooted me into the saddle and felt very secure)
Basically just trial and error until you find something that suits.

My SLK is a Black Med Wide one, its in mint condition ive looked after it well.
Im only going to sell it so i can raise the cash for a serious jump saddle.

Problem with some jump saddles is im quite small im only 5ft 5 and my legs doesnt always sit in the right place.

Oh damm your Albion is medium wide that is too big!

But sounds like you have exactly the same problems as me-I am small, my legs are short and never sit in the right places either!

Thay are fab. the old original Bates CC are fab, (proper Oz ones!) then they changed them to the deeper seated ones wth cair (the caprilli) which wasnt fond of, but the momentum is back down the same routes as the original flat seated CC saddle. I love it, very unrestrictive, but secure at the same time!

i had the caprilli CC from bates and i have to say the leather is amazing quality when you compare to others in the price range (such as pessoa... the leather is dreadful & orange colour scrapes off scarily quickly)

i would lovee to try the momentum though, loving the flat suede seat idea

I agree with you on the pessoa, i have one and the colour has worn off where the stirrup leathers are. although i must say it fits my horse beautifully and is very nice to jump in.
