I had to change farriers as I couldnt get hold of my previous one. I was unable to be present when the boyo was trimmed but I'm happy I think with the trim. What do you think?

Also could anyone give me some general pointers about his feet.

Sorry about poor photo quality, I have slightly shaky hands so struggled to keep camera still enough...

Huge thanks

How long has he been without shoes?

Is he sound on all surfaces?

Does he move straight?

Yes they were newly trimmed (5 days)- farrier called it a working trim- as he has to do some roadwork a few times aweek.

All his life- hes nearly 4

He's sound as long as the stones aren't those really big chunky angular ones, fine on rounded, gravery tracks and concrete etc.

Yes he moves straight enough- always in the ribbons county level, so straight enough

I'm not really sure why you are asking. They look fine, but pictures can be deceiving.

From the apparent shape and the look of the underside I wonder if you have some white line stretch, which might indicate a diet too high in carbs. If you show at county level is he typically "show condition" ie fat, because that would do it.

Yes he is fat though not through choice, he's still in at night on a triple netted, soaked straw hay mix. He's out on grass at day but muzzle going on Wednesday when I can start work later to makes sure he isn't going to kill himself trying to get it off. I was asking as I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing by him (getting a decent farrier etc) he is on pro hoof to help support his hooves although no idea if its helping. Thanks for the reply

Looks great, there are one of two issues that are not trimming related, has good strong feet. Personally i like to see a shot with both front feet and both limbs in it. Bars look strong like the hoof.
