New feathermite product - tested

Well dont know if it will actually kill the little so*s on the horse but if I've got any they are history! New Nettex product comes in plastic puffer pack, but actually more like top of a pepper pot so quite messy. I duly clipped feathers and tried to puff product on most of it went on the floor and me , massaged the rest into horses legs but actually dont think it went down to skin as ned has extremely thick hair. So will monitor legs now and see if any improvement!

Hmm, reading the product description that is just diatomaceous earth, it's supposed to work by dehydrating the insect, a lot of poultry keepers use it I think. If it works you can probably buy it much more cheaply as simple diatomaceous earth.

Brilliant product!! Been using on my cob a couple of weeks and no scabs no itching!!! Just doesn't go far. One tub does him 3 times but at £4 I'm not complaining

We are also having good results with this and and £5.50 a tub it is certainly cheaper than frontline which I haven't had great results with.

Diatomaceous Earth can be purchased in bulk from commercial poultry growers and eBay. A 25kg sack costs about £45. It will last forever in that quantity. There are smaller sizes available, just make sure you purchase Food Grade DE, not industrial grade (used for swimming pools or fish tank filtration systems). DE has a myriad of applications for livestock, agriculture, preservation of grains and seeds, the home and garden.

Am I permitted to mention a very helpful book devoted to DE?
