New fibre feed, think it is Allen and Page

I bought some new fibre soak feed from merchant , I thought it was Allen and Page but can't see it on website,it is in a brown bag and you soak for a short time.
Well ,I'm not keen on it, I like simple feeds lucinuts and thought it would be like that but its just like mush.
Anyone else feeding it ,what do you think?

Well, I have mixed reviews from the ponies. Luke(newfie) eats it no probs, but then he's hardly picky where food is concerned. SWO on the other hand isn't keen, which is annoying as it was primarily her I bought it for as a bran replacement. I'm having to mix alfa chop in with it so she'll eat it

I personally find it convenient, and as it's not too expensive it will work out economical to feed, but I'm sitting here wondering if to go back to D&H's Safe And Sound for the welshy, which means buying it was a pointless exercise.

I picked up a free tester bag at YHL but haven't got round to trying it yet. I'd like to go with one of these but it was a toss up between that, fibre-beet or alfa-beet? Need to read up on them a bit more.
 
Hi, I too have used a free sample, thought it would replace speedi-beet, but its nothing like it, my three natives , which would normally eat anything going refused to eat it. Its mushy and really looks unapetising.

There is a new chop by D and H which is their own brand and really low price, its a really big bag of chaff with molasses mixed in, my teeny pony and Tbx both like it.
 
I used allen & page fibre pencils but they have now been replaced by fibre soak. She loves the fibre pencils but I haven't tried my sample yet. I'm a bit worried now.
 
Yes it is Allen and Page. Basically it is a very high fibre mash 27% fibre. Low in starch and sugar. It is good for oldies who have dental problems as can be used as a partial or complete hay replacer Also good for laminitics.
 
I got a sample from YHL as well and fed it to my two yesterday. They both lapped it up, even the fussy one. I have restricted turnout in the winter so want a fibre feed with high moisture content to back up their haylage. It's low calorie and molasses free so won't fizz them up or add weight (unless fed in huge quantities). If your horses are used to feeds with molasses in it they may well turn their noses up. I haven't fed any feed with molasses in for over a year hence both mine loved it.

Neither of mine are used to molassed feeds, so that's not the reason the welshy won't eat it on it's own.
